2015 was a super year for MCCPA. We are at about 200 members and attended over thirty events and had lots of fun!

On New Year’s Eve 2015, several MCCPA members gathered to see the New Year in. The event was held at ABC West Lanes located in Mechanicsburg. MCCPA members enjoyed bowling, a buffet and drinks into 2016.

On Saturday, November 15 MCCPA held the annual Banquet. The Banquet is also the final meeting of the 2015 year. The day began with several members taking a steam train ride on the Strasburg Rail Road. They meet more MCCPA members across the street for a tour the Railroad Museum of PA. Then all went to Plain and Fancy Farm for a great meal and the final meeting. The meeting activities included presenting our donation to Leg Up Farm, presenting our scholarship recipient with his check, presenting the members who attended 75% of the regular meetings with gift cards, and electing the board of officers for next year. 2105 was quite a year!

On Halloween October 31, Several MCCPA members attended the Jeepers Creepers Halloween Car Show in Dallastown PA. The show proceeds benefited the York Rescue Mission.

On Sunday October 25, MCCPA held the Annual Covered Bridge Tour. The day started clouded but the sun then came out. The event was capped to 100 cars and sold out long before the event. Registration started at 8 am at Oregon Dairy led to a wonderful day of cruising through covered bridges. One of the bridges, Bitzers Mill Covered Bridge was damage two weeks before but was repaired to remain on the cruise. By tradition the cruise ended around 2:30 at Hershey Farms for great meal! On Saturday October 24, MCCPA members along with some out of town visitors toured the Sieverling Antique Car and Pedal Car Museum. The Sieverling Antique Car and Pedal Car Museum is located in Ephrata PA. The Museum has an extensive collection of pedal cars, two antique cars, and a restored 1967 Ford T5 (German Mustang) Fastback. After the tour, the Covered Bridge tour was run one more test run.

On Saturday October 24, Nine MCCPA members attended the Tread on Cancer Car Show held at CJ Tire and Automotive Services in York, PA. The date was a reschedule of an earlier date do to rain. Seven MCCPA members were awarded trophies.

On Sunday October 18, Several MCCPA members braved the chill for a cruise through the beautiful fall foliage to Catoctin Mountain Park. Most of the group enjoyed a hike on the Falls Nature Trail to the seventy-eight feet high Cunningham Falls. Once back the group mounted up for another leg of the cruise to Caledonia State Park. The club had the Pine pavilion reserved. In no time the outdoor fireplace was lit and charcoal grill to cook up burgers and dogs for a fall picnic.

On Saturday October 17, A few MCCPA revisited Leg Up Farm for the Fall Fest. MCCPA is proud to have Leg Up farms as our primary charity.
On Saturday October 10, Several members of MCCPA headed to the Pennsboro Pumpkin Fest Car Show in Enola PA. Three MCCPA members won awards, Congratulations to all three!

On September 26, 2015, on a beautiful windy day, Members of MCCPA met for a cruise to Flight 93 National Memorial. The Flight 93 National Memorial construction is complete and held the Opening Dedication about two weeks before. The experience that included the Memorial Plaza, Flight Path Walkway and Visitor Center was a very moving. The tour of the Visitor center included eye witness accounts, the voice recording form the cockpit recorder and the cell phone conversations of the passengers to their loved ones. After visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial, MCCPA headed to Jean Bonnet Tavern for a late lunch.

On Sunday, September 20, several MCCPA members attended the 20th Annual Cumberland Valley Classics Car Club Show. The show was open to all cars and was held at the Carlisle fairgrounds. MCCPA members also walked away with awards. All attending members placed in the top 55 cars out of 191 on the show field.

On September 19, Nineteen MCCPA members cruised to the 14th Annual Neffsville Car Show in Manheim Township Community Park. Event sponsored by Rotary Club of Lancaster Northeast supports several charities. The event features a mix of cars and included lunch for registered cars.

On September 12, MCCPA presented the Fall Muscle Car Mayhem. The event was the held at Performance Motors of Hanover. This show was open to all Muscle cars and trucks. The Fall Muscle Mayhem was the second MCCPA event held at Performance Motors of Hanover, MCCPA appreciates Performance Motors of Hanover for their support and making their facility available. The weather was a little iffy, causing a lighter than expected turn out. But with the cold weather coming, any car show is welcome.

2015 MCCPA MUSTANG ROUND UP was another success! On Saturday of Labor Day weekend, the Mustang Club of Central Pennsylvania held the 2015 Mustang Round Up. A sunny day brought out a large variety of Mustangs. Congratulations to all the class winners!

On August 29, MCCPA members had a busy day. First we cruised into Leg up Farm. Leg up Farm is a non-profit therapy center in York County, Pennsylvania for children with special needs. The tour far surpassed our prior knowledge of the work the Leg up Farms does and the facilities. MCCPA is proud to have Leg up Farm as our charity. The group then went over to Mission Barbecue for a little lunch Barbecue.

On August 28, Several members of MCCPA met up and cruised to the Markets at Shrewsbury. We cruised in five hours before the official start to secure a great spot. The Markets of Shrewsbury is a combination of Amish furniture and food. The food available also includes MCCPA favorites Bricker’s fries. The Markets at Shrewsbury hosts a cruise in monthly. The cars kept coming all day, we passed out many RoundUp flyers!

On August 23, Several MCCPA members attended the 18th Annual Mid-Maryland Ford Event. The event is a Ford Only Car Show held at Mason Dixon Dragway. Barry and Kathy Klunk and Tom Elledge walked away with trophies

On August 15, several members headed to 7th Annual American Muscle Car show. The Show has continued to grow and was sold out. The American Muscle Car show is held at Maple Grove Raceway. The MCCPA members started the day very early and met at Shady Maple in East Earl, PA for a 6 am breakfast. The group then cruised to the show and got a prime parking spot. On August 8, MCCPA members attended CJ Pony Parts Customer Appreciation day. By tradition the club meets for Breakfast at Skyline Restaurant, then cruise across the street to CJ Pony Parts. MCCPA had several winners this year, in the 1964-1979: 2nd Place Christian Knep, 1979-1993: 2nd Place Kathy Armstrong, 1st Place Charlie and Erin Boyd, 1994-2004: 2nd Place Sam Armstrong, 1st Place Barry Klunk, 2005-2014: 3rd Place Dennis and Diane Snyder, 1st Place Don and Sue Hughmanick, Focus: 1st Place Joe Cressler and Best in Show: Chris and Jennifer Gamber. Congratulations to all of the club winners that placed at the CJ Pony Parts Customer Appreciation Day event!

On July 26, MCCPA was invited in to help celebrate the reopening of the Friendly’s in York PA. 20 Mustangs met for a show and of course a great breakfast!

On July 25, Several MCCPA members Cruised to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. Knoebels is an old style amusement park with the rides requiring tickets, picnic tables and lots of good food. By tradition we all meet for dinner at the Alamo restaurant located in the middle of the park. The specialty of the Alamo being chicken and waffles, yum!

Mustang Week is held July 13-19 in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. The event is a weeklong celebration of Mustangs. MCCPA had three couple drive down, the Boyds, the Warner’s and the Edwards.

On July 5, Six MCCPA members attended Let's go Cruisin' Car Show by Country Cruisers of Lebanon County. Member Rick Watts's 64 1/2 Mustang won. There were 390 cars registered. MCCPA had the club tent up, and members used it throughout the day to hang out in the shade.

On July 4, the Annual MCCPA “Meet and Greet” for new members and club picnic was at Jon and Lori Ruffner's. Drizzling rain did not keep the members of MCCPA from fun. Starting around 2, we gathered at the Ruffner’s and cruised from East Berlin to Hunterstown, around Gettysburg, and south to Thurmont, MD. There was a brief stop near Camp David (the President must have been on another cruise), the caravan continued north through Waynesboro and Mont Alto and on for ice cream at Twirly Top, just outside Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Upon returning to the Ruffners, we were met by other MCCPA members and the weathered cleared. Dale manned the grill and Jon and his family went all out preparing their barn for the Picnic and fireworks. Thanks to the Ruffner’s for the great time!

On June 20, Members of MCCPA cruised up to the 6th Annual Haldeman Ford of Kutztown Car Show. The show is put on by our MCA neighbor club the Berks County Mustang Club.
On June 13, 2015, MCCPA members met at Darrenkamp's in Mount Joy, PA to cruise in together to the 16th Annual LCBC Motorsports Show and BBQ. The Show is hosted by LCBC Church located in Manheim, PA. The show certainly lived up its billing there was a lot of Cars, Motorcycles, BBQ and more!

During the four days of June 5 -7, MCCPA participated in the Ford Nationals held at the Carlisle fairgrounds. The Ford Nationals is one of the premier Ford events in the country that just happens to be in MCCPA backyard. This year our tent expanded to 20 x 30 feet to meet our expanding membership. The tent was decorated in the theme of 50 SHADES OF GREY Mustangs. Most all our members were decked out in grey shirts on Saturday. MCCPA long time member Kathy Klunk created signs, banners and brought assorted handcuffs to play up the theme. Great job to all members that planned helped and brought food to the event!
WOW! The Mustang Club of Central PA Members had 41 Mustangs receive awards on Sunday. Congratulations to all the winners!

On May 24, 2015 members of MCCPA cruised up to the 34th Annual Chester County Mustang Show at Kimberton. The show is a join effort of the Valley Forge Mustang Club (VFMC) and the Chester County Antique Car Club (CCACC) partner each year to host a unique car event. Two car shows in one. The VFMC hosts a Mustang Only car show and the CCACC hosts an antique/classic/muscle car show. This year there was a record attendance of Mustangs. MCCPA brought eighteen Mustangs winning the club participation award. Also four members placed in the show.

On Saturday May 9, 2015 MCCPA held the Muscle Car Mayhem show. The show was located at Performance Motors of Hanover. The folks from Performance Motors of Hanover were not only gracious enough to let us use their facility, but they started setting up at 6:30 and helped all day at the show. The show was a big success, we had almost 80 cars registered and all the the profits from the show went Leg Up Farm.
On April 18, MCCPA held the first cruse for 2015. The Cruise started at the Sonic/Giant on Linglestown Road and cruised up to America on Wheels museum in Allentown PA. The club had a great time looking at all the exhibits and displays. The club then cruised to Grumpy’s. Cruising to Grumpy’s has become a MCCPA club tradition. The Club also managed to cruise through a covered bridge on the way!
