MCCPA Meet and Greet for new members
and Club Picnic
On July 4, the Annual MCCPA “Meet and Greet” for new members and club picnic was at Jon and Lori Ruffner's.
Drizzling rain did not keep the members of MCCPA from fun. Starting around 2, we gathered at the Ruffner’s and cruised
from East Berlin to Hunterstown, around Gettysburg, and south to Thurmont, MD. There was a brief stop near Camp David
(the President must have been on another cruise), the caravan continued north through Waynesboro and Mont Alto and on
for ice cream at Twirly Top, just outside Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Upon returning to the Ruffners, we were met by
other MCCPA members and the weathered cleared. Dale manned the grill and Jon and his family went all out preparing their
barn for the Picnic and fireworks. Thanks to the Ruffner’s for the great time!
After some morning rain, Jon Ruffner and his family moved the Picnic area from a field up behind the barn to inside
and around the barn. Jon gathered everyone for directions and an overview of what is to come.
We cruised into the Catoctin Park, which was right next to Camp David. Jon picked a very beautiful route for the cruise.
The next stop had a neat pagoda, Jon warns everyone that there is a very tight turn ahead..
Of course we all had to see how fast we can take the curve...
We stopped at Twirly Top for some ice cream and treats. OMG is that Mustang for Sale? (Pronounced like a dog seeing a Squirrel)
What a great Cruise.
