MCCPA cruise to Pottsville
On Saturday September 24, Several MCCPA members meet in Jonestown, PA to cruise up to Pottsville PA. The main attraction was Yuengling Brewery which is America's Oldest Brewery. Yuengling Brewery provided a tour that including the hand dug storage caves that the government walled off during prohibition through the brewery to bottling and ending with the tasting room.

Yuengling Brewery has a great gift shop and Museum.
I said Mustangs and Beer, it could only get better if there were trains….and there was, me and Chuck bought one.

A great tour, the Yuengling brewery left part of the brick walls standing to remind them of the dark days of prohibition.

The story is this guy is smiling because prohibition is over. The beer he is drinking is called Winner Beer, a case was shipped to then President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Everyone pays the tax man, a resident tax man collects the federal and state taxes before the beer leaves the brewery.

Yuengling Brewery is still a family owned Brewery. In 1987, the current patriarch Dick Yuengling reintroduced the Traditional Amber Lager. This key decision insured the future prosperity for the brewery.

Yuengling Ice Cream is owned by another family member, restarted in 2014, is it also produced in PA.
The Antique bar in the tasting room was recused from a local bar. at the bar they offer all Yuengling beers on tap, along with birch beer and Ice cream. Fifth generation Yuengling Brewery owner Dick Yuengling still watches over all.
