Leg up Farm Visit
On August 29, MCCPA members had a busy day. First we cruised into Leg up Farm. Leg up Farm is a non-profit therapy center in York County, Pennsylvania for children with special needs. The tour far surpassed our prior knowledge of the work the Leg up Farms does and the facilities. MCCPA is proud to have Leg up Farm as our charity. The group then went over to Mission Barbecue for a little lunch Barbecue.
This group shot was practice for the one above.
The MCCPA embers meet up at Roses. Turns out there was going to be a car show later that morning. Which explains the ghostbusters.
We arrive at Leg up farm, Wow what a facility. Jen greets us
Jen Hitz whom is the Development Director of Leg up Farm, tells us about Leg up farm and takes all on a tour.
Leg up Farm uses many different strategies and types of therapy’s including equestrian. Leg up Farm has several riding horses and two miniature donkeys.
Not all have hoofs.
Next, Jen took us to a town built for kids.
MCCPA President, Charlie wanted to drive the truck, notice that other members went right for the engine...
Just so cool, a teen room with graffiti art and computer games.
Vice president Paul Bellis is often in the Dog house. Which is true, since he still has not given me a blurb on his Mustang.
Luckily we had a dancer with us, Most MCCPA members only know the “I found a part I need” jig.
Jen then took us outside to the grounds in the back.
Treasurer/Membership person Erin Boyd presents Jen a check on behalf of MCCPA.
Wondering what members are looking at, perhaps a GT 500, a wrecked Camaro....?
Nope, about 1500 hungry Kio fish!
An incredible Playscape for clients and their families, MCCPA member’s immediately did some quality control…yep it is fun!
Now we are hungry, time to cruise to Mission Barbecue.
